BLOOD LIFE HOME pays homage to the biblical phrase “Bedamayich Chayiy” .
Loosely translated as ‘Through your blood shall you live’, this phrase is central to the Jewish Brit Milah (circumcision ceremony) and to the Haggadah (ritual retelling of the Exodus story).
The idea of Blood as the most essential source of life has been lost to us. Today many think of Blood as evoking violence and pain. But Blood is also that which connects parents to children, and bonds families, tribes, and nations. Without blood, we do not know who we are. Commanding respect and demanding honor, it is the core of our identity.
With this in mind, we seek to return the ideas of beauty and the home to a more primal, sensual and tactile experience of life.
